Can you help my son out please ?

My 9 YO son is in cub scouts and they are selling popcorn for summer camp and we've spent all day last weekend and all day today and he's only sold about $160.00 worth. We've hit the million dollar houses and the 155 K houses and everyone is tapped out and don't want to buy a $10 can of pop corn for the scouts.

They have an online order system that tracks the orders to the scouts and they don't get any money for the sales they get scout bucs. The scout troop gets 70% of the sale amount in scout bucs to use towards camp or to buy sleeping bags etc..

If you could just order $10 dollars worth he'd appreciate it and if you don't want any pop corn you can send it to the troops in iraq.

No shit - I posted on craiglist and some other forums and the total orders are now at $1700 in just a few hours.

Shit we hit 200 houses last Saturday and today and only got I think $260 in orders and that's with the kid standing there in a scout uniform holding the popcorn.

They have a food drive next Saturday and then two weeks after that and we usually get two full pick up loads for the food bank but I bet this year we don't fill one ?

Yea we hit the same high end area last year and it wasn't too good either. They tell us where to go so we don't have too much choice. We hit another area that's middle class and it was already hit by several scouts.

There's a big difference between drumming up a few hundred bucks for the scouts and begging for sales to pay the rent.

The kid has spent about 12 hours going house to house and isn't getting a free ride. He even wants to go out today for a few hours after he finishes his homework.
