New GFY features (friends list, etc) - why no Private Messaging?

I know several adult message boards where PMs are enabled with no problems at all.

Besides, the visitors messaging is enabled and I haven't seen any spam yet.

Then what's the point of adding the recent features? PMs are much more valuable.
