yea, but even if it was in writing what would he do with it? sue them over $1k script?

Well technically you would still own the copyright of the software right? I mean they did breach the agreement by not paying you and you stated nothing was in writing so that also would mean you did not assign them rights to the software either.

I know it does not help your financial issue at this point. Yet you can get some results following the lines of copyright issues. I am not 100% sure right now but fairly certain and a quick follow up with some legal advice or solid research should show you can follow along with the DMCA rules and send such notices to the hosts, billers, etc.

Yeah, this is exactly the problem.

People have too much faith in writing, but the truth is that, unless it is a huge 5K+ coding project, suing would cost you more.

The best thing you can do is ask for 50% up front. Do get the writing in case there is a misunderstanding about what needs to be done, but don't expect it to help you in collection unless you want to lose money in the process.

sorry for bumping. Just like to say its almost finished to the way I like it...i basically threw away the old code, and began rewriting. however I just want to see some feedback, as to what functions you would like to see. I am willing to give away free review copies only for people on gfy since I think most people here are professionals, in the following weeks.

My general philosophy was that this CMS would not require any manual reading, and a developer skinning or modifying should have no difficulties.

One of my main dillema was if I should use a JAVA client letting you select directories and choose pictures for upload. I thought that this would be complicated.

So heres what I did. You basically put all your pictures or movies in a zip file. you can make directories, and the CMS will automatically detect separate galleries. If you put text files in the folders with description, they will be recognized as well. Movies can be coded in the latest h.264 codec, or left in its original format.

If you have a LOT of models to add, you can just grab Notepad, and write in a speicifc format, or in Excel spreadsheet. There is a parser to update the database with models.

There is a simple language when writing descriptions for models using XML.

There is AJAX as much as possible, to make everything very fast.

Option to choose which models will be displayed on the front page. OR display random models.

Payment gateway.

What other features would you like to see? I will try get the demo up as soon as possible.
