I don't care if you vote, in fact, if you are stupid, don't vote. I think that's a wise decision.

So please people, stop passing around that damn youtube video with celebrities telling people to vote. I don't care if Sarah Silverman can take her bra off under her shirt, I am not impressed. If someone needs to watch that video in order to get them to vote, they shouldn't vote.

If you like someone, get out there in vote. But I don't like the idea of voting for someone I don't like, just because I "have to vote". I also don't like the idea of people voting on subjects they know nothing about. When you go to vote they have that huge massive list of things to vote on...

.. and the bullshit 'two line' synopsis for "Propisition 4131G" that says "Better pay for teachers (2% raise)", and neglects to mention the rider that adds a 3% tax to make up for some of the federal funds lost due to the school's inability to keep the kids scoring high enough on a federal level.. not that about 80% of those voting (and I'm being nice) do any further research than that.

I honestly think some people truly believe they have made some lifetime achievement altruistic social contribution for voting. Critically thinking, the most valuable social contributions do not come from voting for one of two Government parties. Its all smoke and mirrors, and MTV.

I don't let them put that silly sticker on me when I leave either.

Two years ago there was some local election. I didn't go, I didn't know anything about it. Some of my friends did, and they walked around with those little stickers. They asked me if I voted. I said no. They kind of scoffed.

I just sort of chuckled to myself. They went to the booth, checked every Democrat candidate and every Democrat based issue that was on the ballot. If that's what you believe in, fine, that's great... but voting right down the party line because it's "your party" is not voting... not in my small, insignificant, heathen of a mind. After all, I didn't vote.
