Riddle me this ...

Two threads start today. One with the title <b>Fuck Canada</b>. The other with the title <b>Fuck USA</b>.

They both pretty much say the same thing -- your leader is an idiot ... lick my balls ...etc.

A few hours later, the Canada one has sunk after a few Canadians replied laughing about it.

At the same time, the USA one is really going strong and of course all these americans are going 'fuck you, fucking commie, fucking euro...' etc ... etc ... blah, blah, blah

So riddle me this...

Why are Canadians so much cooler than Americans?

Why do americans make such cocks of themselves?

What is the complete inability of 99% of americans to take any criticism at all of their country? Even in jest?

Seriously -- what is their major malfunction?

Look, the evidence speaks for itself. Objective replies to this thread will be very interesting. Rants will be ignored for the complete waste of pixels they are ...

I don't suppose it could have anything to do with the fact that there's like 280,000,000 Americans and 28,000,000 Canadians. With 10x the people you're going to get 10x the response.

Maybe those two threads were more of a social experiment, but as a visitor to this board I get mightily fucked off with all the <b>juvenile</b> "don't trash my country" posts.

I have a trusting relationship with my girlfriend. I don't buy it that all girls are cheaters. If she wants to sleep with another girl that doesn't threaten me and I get to join in sometimes. If you have to live your life with a girl that you constantly have to worry about cheating on you then dump her ass and move on.

In case you haven't noticed, both the "rah-rah" threads and the "fuck [insert country/state/region/province/continent]" threads are started by the same handful of people. One of thos people, apparently, is you. Trying to pass off a blatant attempt to pick a fight as a "social experiment" is a stretch.

How many replies does the USA thread have? Out of those, how many are from unique (American) users? I'm American and for the most part I am proud of my country but you won't find my name on the list of replies to that thread. Of course when you start a thread like that you see a bunch of people who look like assholes because that's what you wanted. You did your best to push people's buttons and get angry reponses. Congratulations, but it doesn't really take a lot of skill. What you don't see is people like me and hundreds more like me who just ignore that sort of bullshit and go on with our lives. There's a lot more like me than like the loud ones but you choose to base your statements on the actions of the vocal minority.

You can say what you like about America but we didn't achieve our current position in the world by being sheep or because we are insecure or because we are reactionary. The same attitudes that make people want to lash out at you in those threads are the attitudes that get trails blazed, buildings built and independence won.

We're not all assholes and chances are most of the people who replied to your thread aren't assholes, either. Their proud of who they are and there's nothing wrong with that.

I am curious why Canadians have their flag sewn on their backpacks. I was travelling in Asia earlier this year and noticed by far and away, it is only the Canadians amongst all countries that do this. What has caused this to occur?

Do Canadians think they are that universally loved and admired or are they desperate to distibguish themselves from Americans? There must be some mass group-think psychosis that triggers this compulsion to be the only people in the world that insist on sewing their flag on their travelling shit.

Just wondering what others take on this is.
