    The fucking US Media is about to SUCK even more.

    Good fucking lord! Link

    Can you believe that the fucking FCC, run by Daddy's little fat slob Michael Powell, is about to actually RELAX ownership rules?

    What this may one day result in is one fucking network bringing you one fucking set of 24/hour a day advertising. This is sickening.

    Quick, somebody go snap up viacomtimewarneraolvivendi.com

    **********************************

    Rules to be reviewed include:

    -- a ban on common ownership of newspapers and local telephone stations (adopted in 1975);

    -- limits on ownership of local radio stations (adopted in 1941);

    -- a 35 percent cap on the reach of national television broadcasters (adopted 1941);

    -- limits on how many stations in a market can be owned by a company (adopted in 1964);

    -- limits on common ownership of radio stations and newspapers in a market (adopted in 1970);

    -- a ban on a company owning two of the four major television networks (1946).

        I've got a great idea. Why don't you go worry about your own country. Let us fuck up the United States as we see fit, we're doing a great job at it anyway.

            Yea the loyal ditto monkeys can?t enough of the daily propaganda from Fax news and Rush. Who would have though 10 years ago that some of the most popular programming would be propaganda. Adolph would have been proud.

              I agree. It's getting pretty bad. Michael Powell is an establishment cronie. He goes to the highest bidder. The laws got relaxed the first time in 1996 and you see what that has given us. Now it will happen again... but worse.

              All we can hope for is that the wireless networks become stronger. I'm confident Wi-Fi or another wireless broadband system will be the people's answer. Right now 802.11a is being built into next year's cell phones PDAs and other devices. If enough companies figure out how to serve up and track people so they can bill them across Wi-Fi networks we will see the destruction of traditional media since people will be able to get the content they want at broadband speeds.

              We are going to see a surge in the way fiber and wireless connections are used in the next 2 years. Some say 5, I say 2.

              The FCC is trying to regulate the broadband spectrum now because they know that once it starts they won't be able to control much of anything.
              I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

              Webair, bitches.

                TV is old technology.

                And so is radio.

                  It's the LIBERAL MEDIA's fault!

                  Talk radio is LIBERAL!

                  Newspapers are LIBERAL!

                  Fox News is LIBERAL!

                  Blame the LIBERAL MEDIA!

                  I just wanted to say it before some brainwashed talk radio listener did.
