Im so sick of hearing bullshit stories about how people convert. what is the craziest number you have heard? And why do people lie so much? I mean, I tell it the way it is. If i sign up on someone referal and its no panning out the way they said. I hit the highway! I just dont get it

Not really. They're just very targeted and filtered clicks. It isn't necessarily BS. Talk to anyone who does AVS, 1:50 isn't BS at all.

I routinely have sponsors I can do 1:50 with.

Back in 98, in the early days of gay, I knew of people doing 1:4. Serge can verify those numbers.

If sponsors wouldnt glut themselves, they would see better conversions. Look what happened to ox. I was doing an easy 1:48 until they let all the gallery kiddies in.

Ok, so I haven't done 1:50. But I HAVE done 1:60 for about 2 months straight earlier this year, with Top Bucks, of all companies.

Ratios mean jackshit unless you mention how many clicks your sending.

Someone might say their average ratio is 1:50, and be telling the truth. But their traffic is so filtered towards the sale, they only manage to send 150 hits a day.

Now another person might have a ratio of 1:1500, but if he is sending 10,000 hits to the sponsor daily, its better overall.

Of course it doesn't always work out like this, but most times the people with the really great ratios are getting SE traffic to their AVS/Paysite.

Now if someone is sending 10,000 hits a day to a sponsor with a 1:50 ratio, I'm impressed.

also, if your doing a free trail your conversion would be high. Im talking about a paid trail or a monthly membership. i just dont believe the 1:50 for paid trials. i feel that i know the true numbers for the most part, and those numbers dont jive in my book =)~~~

It depends on alot of things.
Like if you put the price in your gallery add you'll get less clicks but your conversions will prolly be higher.

Plus people claiming conversions of 1:250 or lower are most likely not talking about 100% TGP traffic.
Check your conversions at 100signups you got from gallery traffic without SE traffic etc. and you'll get a better answer.

Of course not. Why do people assume all conversions are based on TGP traffic? I hardly ever do galleries, but my best conversions were actually with Amateur Pages. I was getting 1:280 with a gallery Tom built for me.

The initial sales mean squat. I do many many $5 three day tours for various sites each day.

It's the rebills that matter. How many of those initial customers will stay for the big charge over a few months.

Most pay sites suck so badly inside that I rarely find anything that retains better than 10%. If you know of sites that retain users

As for marketing, Im doing just fine. Ask some of the big boys at ccbill. I converted 1:300 on the average before I started my trial. Now its alot better than that with my trial.

I know where Im at within all the people that are with ccbill. And its pretty fucking high. So for people to say they are converting 1:50, I just have to question it.

I made my own webpage, and optimized and tested the shit out of it everyday, to promote a sponsor once and converted at 1:50 for 6 months. Then the sponsor went under. I did not realize how much that kicked ass until a year later (because I was a newbie.)

No more info, sorry.

I manage about 1:50 for one of my sponsors, but as frog said, it is extremely targeted search engine traffic and unfortunately its not much volume. But it is very possible to get 1:50 or better. Last year I was getting 1:30 for the same sponsor.

That number is probably very true Shoplifter. I mean, I find that people are getting a lot of Trials and those are hard to convert into a monthly membership. We constantly add new content every day and still, recurrings are tough to get. It is the big challenge to get the client to stay with you instead of dropping his $30 or whatever on a fresh new site.

You know Teen Kelly converts like crazy.

Why in the hell are you comparing overall conversions to single person conversions?

People come on here and say "I'm getting a 1:50" because they ARE getting those conversions.

Companies come on here and say "our affiliates are getting 1:50" because their best affiliate(s) ARE getting those conversions.

I find it ignorant and arrogant of you to think that just because you or some of your affiliates aren't pulling those conversions, it makes everyone else who DOES pull those conversions full of BS.

Personally, my overall conversions last month were around 1:350-400. I have friends who pulled 1:200, overall. These are averages amongst their whole networks of outbound hits, which means they had some conversions pulling better and other conversions pulling worse.
