          tons of great traffic from there ... 15 years ago .... ( using newsblaster to post ... )

                                                  I made a lot of money selling subscriptions to GUBA (Gigantic Usenet Binary Archive) back in the day. After they dumped their core business model and cut their own balls off in a misguided attempt to chase porn-leery venture capital money so they could get acquired as a YouTube competitor (LOL, didn't happen) they had a few competitors rise up to try and fill their niche. But they're all gone now, and there's not much left in the old newsgroups.

                                                                  Usenet is the original. Few of us know what looking at green font is about. I'll admit I know much more about IRC but I was still there going online for real 25 years ago. Bulletin board systems. Both dialed and Ran them.
