So much so that our Prime Minister is currently in Washington talking to people about how to deal with this globally. We have been feeling the pinch for about a year not when one of the banks in the UK (that relied on a lot of connections with the US sub prime market) collapsed and it has been downhill from there. So many of the banks in the States are mixed in with the UK banks that one side of the Atlantic can't have a crisis without the other following.

House values are way down..and don't get me started on food prices. Bread and fresh fruit are the things that drive me nuts and they have both doubled in price over the past year.

My electricity bill started to soar last month despite us not doing anything differently in our house.

So, yeah, I guess I can get why the supermarkets think they can shift a lot of booze at the moment.
