interesting
I like the mixing of genres like this...
at least it's not another typcial PG13 remake of a so-so 80s slasher... -
Agreed. Horror is just stuck in a remake era right now. I'm interested to see other things, rather than another remake. That's a reason I can't wait for Saw V to come out Oct 24th.Comment

Yeah, even asian horror is getting a little boring right now
I've been hearing about this outpouring of french horror lately and am starting to seek out more in that area...
I'll probably see Saw V opening weekend as always, but not as excited about this installment...I'm more excited to see DLB's "Repo: A Genetic Opera"

Well, it's going to be interesting to see how they pull this Saw off. There's a lot of hype around repo. Paris Hilton will be featured in it as well. I'll tell you a movie I'm looking forward to on DVD; The Strangers. I saw it in theaters a couple times. Second time I saw it was at the $2 theater, but oh well. I thought it was nice to see a movie like that again. Just straight up horror. No remake, no prequel, no bullshit, just a straight up scary movie. It was a breath of fresh air.Yeah, even asian horror is getting a little boring right now

Yeah, The Strangers was great...it really got under my skin...first time a movie has done that in a long time...Well, it's going to be interesting to see how they pull this Saw off. hard to call it "horror" but I was the same way with "Funny Games"Comment

Well, it's classified as horror, y'know? Nothing really got under my skin, but I certainly enjoyed it.
You know, I just watched the US version of Funny Games about 3 weeks or so ago. Definitely a great movie.
I don't think people who come out with original horror movies get enough props. Here's what all we have to expect in the future as far as horror is concerned:
Pet Semetary (remake)
Friday The 13th (remake)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (remake) (Billy Bob Thornton is playing Freddy)
Hellraiser (remake)
Children of The Corn (remake for a SciFi Channel movie)
Night of The Demons (remake)
etc etc etc etc etc
I mean, it's just sad. However, the Friday The 13th remake isn't looking too bad. That leaked trailer kind of surprised me. http://www.horrortrailer.com/file/30...iler-2009.html
The return of running Jason. Haha, awesome.
Either way, I'll watch all the remakes that do come out. I can't pass up watching a scary movie. Hell, I'll most likely even see them all in theaters. I'm just saying that I want a bit of fresh air as far as horror is concerned. On another note, Feast 2 is coming out. I'll definitely be seeing it as I did enjoy the first. Trailer. <-- If you want to check it out.Comment

Michael Bay doing the Friday the 13th Remake.... I like scary movies, hope he can do it justice.Comment

He's producing it, yes. The director is Marcus Nispel whom did The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and he did it quite well IMO. Therefore, I'm hopeful. Jason is a bad ass, I sure hope they don't screw things up.Comment
