                                                  That gives him something to fall back on when people and the media call him out on it and his followers pay not attention to that part because they like the racist statement. Trump is smart

                                                          You're only remembering the first time he's said that, at the speech when he officially announced he was running for president, but same technique. Make a blanket statement that offends a group, and follow it up with but not all of them. Not faulting him for it, i think it's a smart technique, idiot.
