Yeah I agree with that one mate, Rooney is past his prime IMO. He still has a lot to contribute but sacrificing a guy with real pace and riding on a high, is a bad decision. Vardy is the perfect compliment to Harry Kane, knock the ball up and let Kane win the headers, get Vardy sitting on the shoulder of the last defender, he only needs one chance and it's most likely a goal. Rooney is trying to play too much like Paul Scholes played for England, spraying passes around the middle, over the top and out wide. Difference is, Scholes had guys like Lampard, Gerard, Beckham, Shearer to aim at and keep things flowing, Rooney isn't accurate enough to be playing that role.
I'll be interested to see where Mourinho plays him next season for Man U. If they bring in a couple of big players, I can see him being a bit part player.
