No doubt one may quote history to support any cause, as the devil quotes scripture.

this is why mccain said he thinks rich is 5 million plus a year..

It's on both their websites. Media isn't making any of this up.

Fact is that 99% of GFY would benefit from Obama financially.

SO yes true but portrayed with a screwed spead that does not do the Obama Campaign any justice when looked at in the terms displayed in the screen shot.

I agree. Why the fuck does one kind of scam (religion) get tax free treatment while others get penalized?

Especially when the churches mobilise to effect political outcome.

                            It's against the constitution.

Obama's plan to eliminate taxes for seniors making below $50,000 is something that SHOULD have every affected senior voting for him.

We're talking about a group that is often forced to work far beyond retirement age because they can't afford to live. Some of them even taking 1/2 doses of their medications to save money.

Obama could be the son of God and wouldn't be able to win over the majority of that constituency. Not at this point in time.

Well considering the median income is under $40K I'd say Obama's plan is better.

Obviously McCain rather screw people making under $66K out of $700 in order to give it to the rich.

Exactly where is McCain going to get the money to to cut everyone's taxes? We are already running up record deficits. Where's he's cutting money from? 2/3 of the budget is either military, social secuity/medicare or interest on the debt. All things which won't get cut.

                                          The real question is...
What would the dollar be worth under a MC Caine Presidency.
I pretty much doubt even the wealthy would have much to celebrate as the dollar bottoms out.

Don't pester Republicans with such silly questions. Just less taxes and spend more. Watch our sovereign credit rating get downgraded while the next generation of Americans can skip having roads built so that we can pay down massive debt.

Lert's not forget eitehr guy can say what his plan is but it's not the President that makes tax policy it's CONGRESS. So if CONGRESS doesn't like the President's tax plan guess what it's not getting passed. Candidates typically fail to inform voters of this when they make promises.

he doesn't need a majority just a higher % than what Gore or Kerry got. I saw his speech to AARP last week he got very rousing applause. McCain may be one of them but he's for personal accounts something old people hate. Obama is against personal acocunts. So anti-personal account and promising 95% for them that they will never pay taxes again means A LOT of votes for him from old farts.

I feel sorry for the next President because he's going to inherit war and powers in Washington will keep the pressure on to continue them. The difference is that I think Obama is genuinely opposed while McCain genuine believes it is the right path.

Not really. MSNBC exists because FauNews exist. If the Kiwi retard never invented Faux News MSNBC wouldn't have an audience either.

Not even close. They had that label placed on them because they actually gave Bill Clinton the benefit of the doubt and an oppurtunity to clear the air on the Whitehouse scandals.

The real issue is that Obama wants to raise capital gains taxes from 15% to 20%? Remember that when you hear people complain about how unfair it is and how the wealthy already pay more than their share. They're paying 15% while you're paying 33%+ by actually working. They're paying LESS and taxed LESS on their capital gains income than you are with earned income. The average American doesn't have a chance at making a living with capital gains and getting to keep more of his money. They're working hard as it is to come up with enough to survive in a Bush economy, as banks fail, real estate busts, declining dollar, increase in gas and oil, etc...

In reality, the Democratic Congress (or even Republican for that matter) would never cater to McCain's thinned out budget ideas to afford his massive tax cuts for the wealthy. So McCain would then take out more loans to afford the cuts and blame the Democrats for adding to the national debt.

Nothing wrong with putting the capital gains tax back to 20% where it was before it got lowered to 15%.

So McCain would then take out more loans to afford the cuts and blame the Democrats for adding to the national debt.
This is the point. If McCain wins the democrats will still control Congress. So McCain is not going to get the tax plan he wants anyways since it's CONGRESS that passes tax bills not the President. All he can do is veto any tax bill that Congress passed. I doubt Congress will have the 67% to override a veto so that would mean they'd both have to compromise now wouldn't it? That's not necessarily a bad thing.

It's funny how they're claiming her as a champion against government spending when her record shows the exact opposite.

What you are missing here is two fold:

                                                                                          1. The corporations don't pay higher taxes when they are imposed... YOU DO when you buy their product.

                                                                                          2. What do states do when they want businesses to move large operations into their communities? THEY GIVE THEM TAX BREAKS. Why? Because they know that it is better for the community to collect NO taxes from the corp then to have them go somewhere else altogether. If you want companies to move back into the US, cut corporate taxes.

The fact is that, yes, when you cut corporate tax, they are able to cut prices, they are able to hire more workers because sales rise because of more competitive pricing, and they are able to invest more money into the ecomomies of the countries where they are based.

The profits don't sit in someone's mattress, the funds are working. EVEN if the money simply goes into the CEO's pocket, and he sticks it in his bank account, the bank is now using that money to invest in order to profit from the funds. Having corps stay in the US due to lower corporate taxes actualy tends to INCREASE tax revenues to the US gov, by the fact that they hire more people in the US, they invest more in the US, and they build more in the US. At the same time, people in the US are paying less for the products that they buy.

This is pretty basic, but a lot of people fail to see that it isn't a zero sum game. Wealth is always flowing, and the more that corporations can be competitive by staying here, the better it is for the country.

Again, this is just my . What can I say? When it comes to economics, I tend to be an Adam Smith fan.
