I'll give you a quick clue: Like everything else that you talk about, it's a lot more complicated than you think. You can't just buy a lens because it's the "best"

It depends first of all on what camera body you own. And then it depends on where you do the majority of your shooting.

The correct answer to this question isn't "Canon or Nikon" it's: If you had to have ONE lens it would be the one that is the most versatile for your camera body. Probably something that is a 24/70 mm with the proper F for the lighing conditions that you work in.

That's what I use for shooting content. The nicest all around lens I can get for my camera body. It's an $1100 piece of glass so it's not too expensive, yet it works just great for shooting a big tit girl having sex.

I also have a fish eye lens that I whip out every once in a while for one of those extreme big tit or big ass shots. But it mostly collects dust when I'm in the middle of shooting a hardcore scene as I don't have time to change lenses.

Now you can go down to Walmart and get that disposable kodak camera for $3.95 that you have had your eye on.

The difference between what a lens can do "on paper" and how it actually performs isn't the litmus test for how much revenue it will result in.

By your logic - indirectly you're saying if you have a greater wide angle capability with less barrel distortion in one lens compared to another - your income would be greater.

This is putting too much credit on the technical hardware aspect as opposed to the skill and experience of the photographer.

You learn to work within the parameters of any piece of camera gear and maximize its capabilities through experience. Over the years I've seen talented photographers turn out amazing images with what would be considered mediocre cameras.

For the record, I'm currently shootin' with an AF-S 18-200mm DX VR nikkor on my D80. Its replaced the 18-70mm and 55-200mm nikkor I started with - simply because I grew tired of swappin' out lenses and risking dust/dirt on the sensor array each time.

You know what pussyserver...Here is some damn good advice on photography. Go to this site: http://www.dpreview.com/ Guy that runs it is named Phil Askey. When I first opened a content company in 1998 I needed a crash course in high end digital photography. This guy is the bible of it.

Read carefully. I used to spend hours reading his stuff and his comparisons 10 years ago.

Maybe learning to do something would be a good thing for you. Raise yourself up and stop all your nonsense.

I'm using a Canon EOS 5D with a Canon CA247028LEF Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM

So here is an example of my poor content that doesn't make me any money The lens seems to do just fine for me to shoot content without having to do a lot of lens changes. The whole setup is under 5 grand. I'm sure that I could have gotten more expensive gear, but this seems to do the trick for shooting content on the web:

The question was... what lens would you buy if you could only pick one... that plus the fact that you always feel the need to start an argument with me .... or tell me.. as well as others what we do or do not do for a living just gets anoying

This is a great little setup. I have a couple of Canon 5D and love them. Use them for everything that I shoot

The primary lens I shoot with is a 24-70 2.8

A 24 to 105 is a fine choice for content shooting.

Since I already have a comparable lens and I also have a 70 - 200 2.8, if I had to buy one lens to accomplish everything for a month, it would be this lens...Hands down.

24-70 f2.8L from Canon is excellent. I also use a 70-200 f2.8L with IS. I use 2 bodies so I don't have to swap lenses.

Glad you mentioned that Tony.

I still use the e10 in the studio and I've always said the glass on it is the sweetest I've seen. Its well over 800k shots by now (six years old...give or take). Had it rebuilt back to factory spec a few years ago after a drop. Still takes a wicked shot.

I've even considered pickin' up a second one as a backup, even though it'd be the third camera in the bag.

If you can only afford one lens you should not be a photographer.

The lenses you choose depends on what you shoot, where you shoot, how you shoot and the camera. Plus your budget.

On digital though you need to decide on one lens as changing them over is a nightmare with dust.So do you want the best photo? Go for a fixed lens that fits where you shoot, I used to use a 85 mm. I think it was an 85 mm.

For digital it's a pro wide angle to around 150-200 mm.

Not sure about the exact one as I'm at home and anyway I'm a pornographer not a photographer.

I picked up the 18-200mm just before taking holidays in Atlantic City and was glad I did. I must've walked up and down the boardwalk 30-40 miles during the week and thankfully didn't have to carry the camera bag with additional lenses the whole time.

I'll give you a quick clue: Like everything else that you talk about, it's a lot more complicated than you think. You can't just buy a lens because it's the "best"

It depends first of all on what camera body you own. And then it depends on where you do the majority of your shooting.

The correct answer to this question isn't "Canon or Nikon" it's: If you had to have ONE lens it would be the one that is the most versatile for your camera body. Probably something that is a 24/70 mm with the proper F for the lighing conditions that you work in.

That's what I use for shooting content. The nicest all around lens I can get for my camera body. It's an $1100 piece of glass so it's not too expensive, yet it works just great for shooting a big tit girl having sex.

I also have a fish eye lens that I whip out every once in a while for one of those extreme big tit or big ass shots. But it mostly collects dust when I'm in the middle of shooting a hardcore scene as I don't have time to change lenses.

Good points, Robbie. I have several lenses and could not just pick one that I would want to buy today and thats it. Each lens has a special application I use it for. I am in the market for a 24/70f2.8, but this wont be the last lens I purchase.

So I guess if I had a choice today, I would go for the Canon 24/70f2.8.

Tomorrow is another story another lens.

Our main camera is a Canon 1d, most used lens is Tamron 28-75 f2.8, for tight spots do a wide angle 17-40 Canon L.
