She thinks I'm waiting for some kind of big pay off that will never come. Even though I make good money despite ups and downs in the income she sees it as unstable. I told her that its more about freedom, etc than anything else but she says those aren't goals either. Her goal is "advancing her career" and she says she feels she makes a difference. She works for the government doing income support for disablity. Making money is my primary goal. The amount of monthly income changes with the passing years. However my real goals are what I plan to do with the money and where I plan for it to take me. At the moment I haven't been on track with the "doing the stuff with the money" part of the plan.
Buy a house, invest in retirement, play the stock market (do own a few), eventually I'd like my job to simply be managing my money. Moving it around will be my full time job.
But yeah money is a top notch goal... People that work 9-5 never see it like that. They see vacations as goals.Comment

You can only advance so much within the government so career does not seem to be the real reason.
It's difficult to understand for a lot of people that do not understand the online industry that it actually require a lot of, it makes it even more difficult to understand if you actually enjoy your work.
