Bomb explodes at Spanish airport

A bomb has exploded in a car park at Santander airport minutes after authorities had received a warning.

A police spokesman said there were no injuries but that the blast destroyed several other cars parked at the airport.

Black smoke was pouring from the enclosed parking building minutes after the explosion.

Car bombings are frequently carried out by ETA - classified as a terrorist organisation by Spain, the European Union and the United States.

The group has claimed or been blamed for killing more than 800 people, mostly security force members, in a 35-year-old campaign.

I am just waiting for these fuckers to start blowing up shit around here... My apartment complex is just next to a Corte Ingles, and apparently they like to go after those.
Fortunately they seem to call in the bombs to allow evacuation.

They said they were going on an "offensive" against tourist areas ( the coast ) this summer, I guess that means august, when the main vacation period sets in.

Killing innocent people? What like the church did for centuries?

Dont hide behind god claiming sorrow for innocent lives, god kills daily. And has wasted entire towns over sin, Viking wasting towns of christians is not wrong, pagans should rise again and take back this country.

I was in San Sebastian last year for the ferias. On every building there were those ETA tags. One week after I left the place there was a car bombing. I'm not into Basque politics but this is a serious issue for Europe. What do they claim exactly? Independance but at what costs? What would be better for them if Pays Basque became a republic. I understand they want to keep their culture but can't they just get along. I'm not judging them but civilians should never been targeted. Terrorism is a desperate act.

See! You should have married me and moved to the states - we don't have bombing in the N. GA mountains. We don't have much at ALL in the N. GA mountains.

nice - i'm flying to Madrid in 11 days then over to Ibiza. all i need is for a bomb to go off while i'm at the airport!

last year my friend was in the Madrid airport when one went off in the parking lot so you never know!
