A big Fuck you to Countrywide!

My wife and I received letters today From Country wide stating....

We are writing to inform you that we recently became aware that a Countrywide employee (now former) may have sold unauthorized personal information about you to a third party. Based on a joint investigation conducted by Countrywide and law enforcement authorities, it was determined that the customer information involved in this incident included your name, social security number, mortgage number, and various other loan and application information.
We deeply regret this incident and apologize for any inconvenience or concern it may cause you.......

I will scan the whole letter tomorrow. I am so fucking pissed right now I could fucking scream!!!!. I am going to call our attorney tomorrow to see if there is any legal action that can be taken about this issue. I highly doubt we can do anything, but I am going to look into it and we are going to pay them a visit tomorrow if there is still an office open in this town.
I do not want to go through identity theft. We have a friend that went through this shit and it took her three years and allot of grief.
If there is any legal action that can be taken, I plan on sticking it up their asses deep, hard and wide??fucking incompetent idiots!

Anyone who has their mortgage with this dirt bag company should check to see if their personal information has not been compromised too!

And a big FUCK YOU to Country wide

Real good luck showing that they are at fault. You sort of need to show how they were negligent and how that allowed for that former employee to do what they did, blah blah.

They will have their asses covered tight. They will claim and already have that they were a victim of a crime and you are just another such victim.

May as well begin prep on your identity issues now, odds are it was to another company it is a fucked risk regardless and your better being safe.

Yea, you make allot of valid points. Lets just hope it was to another mortgage company. It makes me real uneasy to know our SS numbers are somewhere out there. I hope they are not in the wrong hands.
I have been trying to get away from this company for quite some time, but they are not selling our loan.

You do know that all your info like, house info, address, mortgage, title, loan balance, when it was last appraised, the bank you got your mortgage from, all the names on the title, everything but your ss # is available from public records (like Title company's give it out to mortgage brokers for practically free) .... All they will do is try to call you up and tell you that got a better mortgage for you and can get you at a better rate then countrywide and that you should refinance with them... "When banks compete you win" was my fav line .......Happens all the time i use to work for a mortgage broker.

This shit is going to happen whether we want it to or not. It's a sad commentary on the world today but it is what it is. The information age : the good, the bad, and the ugly

I am aware of that. My concern is the SS numbers. I would be more than happy to get away from Country wide... as I have stated many time before.
The way this letter reads, it was not to another mortgage company. I will find out more tomorrow when we pay them a visit.

like mentioned before the info is going to another mortgage company. they are just covering their asses with a disclosure...if you are really concerned contact all 3 the credit bureaus and inform them to place a "hawk alert" and state that clearly that you want to be notified every time an inquiry is done. you can also have them place a flag for any company to contact you prior issuing any lines credit

There is no proof the info went to another mortgage company. Our loan has been sold and bought several times and we always end up back at Country wide without any notice like this, so I doubt this is the case.
Country wide is pursuing further legal action regarding this matter. We have already contacted companies and placed our info on alert.
The only good thing Country wide is doing, is providing complementary credit monitoring services for the next 2 years.

We have taken all necessary action with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion

I think today would be a great day to test out my new camcorder when we visit the office...then post the shit on utube. I am sure I will be asked to leave the offices after I ask why they violated the privacy act by selling our SS numbers.
