Johnny Depp is the riddler...philip seymour hoffman is the penguin in next Batman?

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Caine Says Johnny Depp Is The Riddler, Philip Seymour Hoffman Is The Penguin
Published by Casey Seijas on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 12:58 pm.

Johnny Depp It?s one of the biggest ? and most hotly debated ? questions in fandom?which actors (and characters) will director Christopher Nolan enlist as a villain for his third ?Batman? film? Rumors have abounded since the release of ?The Dark Knight,? and Nolan has remained fiercely tight-lipped. But now, has one of his main players let slip some of the biggest casting news of the decade?

In an interview with MTV News, Michael Caine seemed to confirm rumors that the next installment of the ?Batman? film franchise will feature two very well-known names playing the roles of The Riddler and the Bumbershoot Bandit, The Penguin. ?They?ve already got them in mind,? said Caine, when asked who he?d like to see take up arms against the Caped Crusader. ?It?s Johnny Depp as The Riddler. And The Penguin is Philip Seymour Hoffman. I read it in the paper.?

I read somewhere that johnny depp wasn't gonna take the job, or something like that.. anyways i reallly don't even want to see Penguin as a villan.. For those who care about this news..

Both seem perfect for those roles.

They both would be crash courses onto what happened with the forum movie line.

Plus it would really fly in the face of most fans who put at least one of them on the top of the worst villians ever lists numerous times again and again over the decades.

Plus Depp = Burton which equals fail by association.

It also states that Caine read it in the papers. Which makes it as credible as if it was posted here first.

Sounds totally freaking awesome in my opinion. Those two would be great for those roles. I'd love to see Johnny Depp do that role!

Yes the dark knight is the second top grossing film of all time. All of the movie sites/blogs and etc have been buzzing about it for a while. They say it may still beat Titanic eventually.

If they make another film, I want them to use some of the more unknown villains. The Main two I want to see are Bookworm and King Tut. Admittedly it's only because they were incredibly bad and I want it to return to the cheesyness of the 60's films. This also means I want the "Kapow", "Ouch" and other associated stupid words over every punch.

I also saw Dark Knight yesterday and thought it was good although the phone thing near the end was a bit crap. I don't think they'll make one for maybe 5 years, so I don't see Depp or Hoffman getting involved.

I still prefer Michael Keatons Batman anyway.

Yes 2nd highest in the US. 29th if you adjust for inflation though it should move in 28th by this time next week possibly ending up at 26th when al is said and done. #6 worldwide all time though should be #4 by next week.

Well in 1939 there wasn't any TV, internet, video games etc. In most towns the only thing to do was go to the movies. Also in 1939 not nearly as many movies were released so there was less competition and a movie could play for months at a theater. Now if a movie gets 3-4 weeks that's an accomplishment.

I'm pretty sure the Christopher Nolan said he didn't want to do the penguin in the next one anyway. I'm sure he wanted more unknown bad guys.

David Tennant (Dr Who) would be good as the Riddler I reckon.
