well, if any of the sides would decide to use nuclear cruise missiles on targets like aircraft carriers, and so on... that would met with counterstrike from other side...probably also nuclear... which would lead to more counterattacks from both sides ->> end of the world
I don't know actually if there is counter measure for any attack both from Russia and US..if any of the sides will decide to target something, they may send 5, 10 or 40 cruise missiles... for such power no anti aircraft sistem will be sufficient, as it will take only one missile that will hit the target......
so I see no possibility of open war between countries like China, US/ NATO, Russia and maybe few others
