if you truely believe that you're pretty ignorant. This isnt anything new, Dubai has been building huge projects for the last 10 years. Dubai is the financial hub of the middle east, and a lot of the money goes through there....even the money funding terrorist organisations...so trust me nothing is going to happen to dubai as long as the money is still flowing in and out of it. Dont get all your info from fox news or cnn, try broadening your horizons a bit and you may see that even Arab countries are moving towards a more modern lifestyle, especially the younger generation.
Just cause the media shows a bunch of fanatics jumping up and down shooting their guns doesnt mean the whole of the middle east lives like that. Travel a bit outside your borders and you may realize it.Comment

1. I don't watch TV at all, let alone the propaganda factories called Fox and CNN.
2. I don't doubt the modernization of the Arab nations one bit. It's the handful of militant groups I'm referring to, and the convenient proximity of Burj Dubai.
3. I'm well traveled - not like that is a relevant point in your rebuttal though.
4. There was a lot of money flowing into and out of WTC also.
I'm not making any blanket statements here, I'm merely pointing out that I think some would see the tower as a big bullseye.

i was in dubai last year.. i actually went to the site where burj dubai was being built.AMAZING!
Dubais main source of $$ is tourism not oil.. Its fucking amazing what they got going on there in dubai.. they are building dubai world, and when its finished itll be bigger than dubai itself.. yeah bigger than dubai.. not only that but itll be way bigger than disney world and basically as big as some cities in USA..Talk about major tourist attraction.
Dubai is way fun.. I went dune bashing.. dune buggying.. desert safari.. clubs.. lounges..
fucking nice place, no tax on shit, and $>dirharms is like 3.something so shit is cheap.. i mean i bought a sandwich from a deli for like 3 dirhams, thats less than $1..
I also bought gas for $1something/gallon... OMG i bought a samsonite suitcase for 60dhs, which is less than $20USD.lol
Nothing like TAXfree/Dutyfree places..
