    FHMG flash or wmv ?

    usuall I make my Free Hosted Movie Galleries with wmv files.
    Thinking about making them with flash now.

    Do affiliates need such a thing ?
    Should I replace wmv with flash ?
    Or should I offer both for promotion ?

    What do you think ?

      flv files are good. Both would be good as some webmasters prefer wmv/mpg to flash.

          I prefer flvs myself... however would love to hear more input from affiliates on this thread.

                  I don't think there is a single TGP script that can handle galleries with FLVs, so affiliates won't be able to submit them or easily make thumbs to promote them, etc. Something to keep in mind. You'll lose all your TGP/MGP traffic unless you still have WMV versions for this.

                          I think offering both would be best. I've seen some where the flv is the primary and there's a link to d/l the wmv's.

                                  Is there any affiliate program that offers their galleries in multiple formats? I can't recall any right off the top of my head.

                                  meaning, you the FHG has both wmv and flash for the surfer, or quicktime and wmv or whatever the case may be. anybody seen it? if so, who?

                                          Sponsors with Flash FHGs

                                          I already list Flash FHGs on our Sites that run under SmartThumbs, right now it's a bit a pain to add them, but I think it's only a matter of weeks/months before scripts will be able to handle them. And if I'm right Flash galleries are easier on the Bandwidth consumption, so that means either less BW costs, or more runtime for the user.

                                          Right now I have no idea if flash galleries will have an positive Impact on our traffic, but I'll keep an eye on it ;)

                                                  I was wondering the same, I've seen a few threads from webmasters asking for flv galleries. But I don't think at this time it would be a good move to move all galleries to flv's, should still offer both. Speaking of which, heh, need to go work on that...
