Seems the US could be sitting defenseless ducks and powerless if Obama is pres.
How do you feel about a US without nukes?

Do you think Israel and Bush will act before election day?

    nukes aren't needed anymore.

moreover, the contamination leftover is a huge international liability.

If local economy sucks and is going down the drain then best thing you can do is to think out a foreign treat. That way people will point their attention to the Enemy and forget to blame the politicians. I say "nukes" story in Iran is about as truthful as "WMD in Iraq".

What makes you think that Obama would allow Iran to have nukes?
        Please stop.

As a politician he has to to aim for the reduction of nuclear weapons. So in that one sentence there is no way that Iran would be permitted to have nukes under his presidency.

Nothing wrong with a leader that wants to shore up alliances and make friends while reducing the potential of nuclear conflict.

Sure, I'd agree if all countries didn't have them.
          Here's who has them

I don't think that.. the question was in regards to Obama's policy on disarming America's nukes and at the same time there exists a very remote and tiny chance Iran MAY be making nukes just because W & Israel say so...

So, my question was, do you think Obama's policy in regards to US nukes would prompt Israel or US to act before November?

You know.. like nuke em now while we have the chance, lol

One thing Obama did say that in that video contrasts what he was saying in the DNC.

In the DNC he assured Americans that we would maintain a strong and technologically equiped military, while creating an end to Iraqi war and expanding America's Diplomacy.

I for one can appreciate a strong and ready military and I can definatly get behind a guy that wants to reduce our military actions while maintaining a sharp and strong military.

Just because America has an awesome military does not mean it has to be used and it is that fact that separates the Democrats from the Warmonger Repugnicans.
Just because one carries a big stick does not mean it has to be used.

                Its as simple as that.

I highly doubt we would ever nuke Iran unless they nuked Israel first. Even then it would probably Israel that nuked them. We don't need to nuke them. We can use missiles to destroy their nuclear facilities and if they strike back by invading Iraq or attacking our military in the Persian Gulf we have enough Air and Naval power to bomb them back into the stone age. We could rain fire on them for three month non-stop and turn that country into rubble. No need to nuke.

As to the question will we act before election day? I really doubt it. Bush is already one of the most hated presidents in history. If he attacks before election day it could cause such a backlash that McCain could get stomped. Maybe it would rally the country around McCain, but right now people feel like they were lied to about Iraq so Bush would have to have rock solid, world class proof that Iran had a nuke or he would doom McCain.

What you say is true, it's unlikely the US would make the first strike. It would be Israel starting it so of course that could be the excuse to get involved without as much backlash, to help their ally, perhaps.

The only way Iran can hurt anyone but Israel is if they can smuggle a bomb into the country and detonate it. More likely they would fire a missile or sneak a bomb into Israel. If that happened we could (and probably would) jump in to defend out ally, but if we just attack them because we think they might be dangerous we would stir up a real hornets nest.
