Rant I just saw a guy get busted for weed

The cops stopped him and he had weed in his pocket.
The cops handcuffed him and hauled him off to jail.

It was pure evil to witness.
What kind of fucking evil is in people to do this to it's citizens over something so minor?

I could have slapped a drunk in the face and told him to get the fuck out of here right
in front of those cops and they would not have arrested me.
But that weed is the devil and hurts people more than assaulting a drunk...I guess.

That seems so backward. Even in uber conservative Dallas the PD is no longer making arrests for simple possession, I mean you still face potential jail time but they issue you a citation and you get a court date, but DPD has been instructed not to waste resources arresting for it.

i agree with the point of view that some of the drug laws have turned into a racket to make profits for cop & prison lobbies. & that some people are bearing a bigger brunt than others by virtue of their lifestyle, the way they look act etc.

there is no right answer with drug legalizing, either way you have terrible consequences. just a matter which consequences you prefer.

i got pounced on once by the cops while i was walking out of a dispensary with a 1 ounce sack of stinky stank. i had all my ducks in a row though except my dog wasn't on a leash. they wrote me a citation for that and never even asked for my weed credentials.
it was nutty standing there holding an oz waiting for the cop to write the ticket for the no leash.

nevertheless, it was harassment, they were waiting for me to walk out.
