    Domain in redemption period?

There is a domain I want to buy that is been in redemption since the beginning of July. I checked SnapNames and Pool and it is not listed at either. Where else can I look and is there a better way to snag it?

    Thanks.

You can't "snag" it in redemption. You have to wait until it's Pending Delete, or Expired. When it's in Redemption, the registrant can still renew.

I understand that but is there a better way to be 1st inline to snag. Backorder it at the current registrar or does that not matter?

SnapNames does just fine for that. They are usually fast at grabbing them.

Yup, but then it goes to auction and you may be in a bidding war. Wouldn't the registrar on file automatically snag it when 1st available if they had a backorder for it?

unless you have mega bandwidth access to the registars you have no hope, you can build your own script to continually check dropped names but you will get booted.

and the way things have become you are better off to just use a service like snapnames for dropping.

in redemption the person first in line was the previous owner, they have to pay a surplused fee to get the domain back, after that period it will be available to the public.

I backordered it at the registrar and snapnames. Hopefully one or the other comes through.
