    Webmasters cut of the profits from a models site

    I've nearly finished making a site - devonstyles.com and am wondering how the earnings should be divided? We have decided on me getting a 1/4 of the profits just for the first year and then this may stop if no more updates are required.

    Can anyone please let me know if this is reasonable or if you have any suggestions.

          If you are shooting all the content then 60/40 is reasonable. Otherwise if its site design you should only really have a one off payment for services.

              Thanks for the replies.

              Basically it's the kind of deal where I put the site together along with editing the videos, creating galleries, adding new content twice a month along with promoting through banner exchanges, adding teasers to tube sites etc.

              This deal is supposed to last for around a year but I know I can make us both more money through constant promotion after that period ends so just wondering what you guys thoughts are on this?

                  I would make the deal for a 6 month period and than evaluate what your part has been and how much the part of your business partner has been. If you are running the show you should get more than a 1/4, but if the website is going nowhere than you can decide to quit the venture after 6 months.

                      One last question please.

                      We are getting members signing up but haven't set up about fully promoting until next week. Can I confirm that say I promote the site a bunch over the next year and then stop and the girl lets the site ride on without any more promotion, she would be worse off financially than if I kept promoting at least an hour a day.

                          I think you should be thinking in terms of years and of updating weekly at least. I think u are preppng your site to fail or have short shelf life.

                              My idea was to keep updating the site twice a month (I could do weekly updates instead though) along with promotion for the life of the site - is this pretty much the right method?
