I'm not sure if the dust will ever settle on tubes. I'm not as long in this industry as you are, but I've never seen that conversion ratios have gone UP again once they came down due to some shakers, might it be Free Porn, Visa Regulations, 2257, Tubes, whatever.
My sales haven't dropped as much as yours, but I'm concerned already that things are going in the wrong direction
I'm definitely concerned. But as I said my ratios are up. I just don't have enough crazy traffic like I used to to be able to throw enough out there at stuff. It definitely is hurting the entire freesite business. I'm very glad that I was always a revshare kind of person. And as long as it continues to grow...even slightly, then I'm not gonna declare it "dead" or "dying" But you're right...when things aren't growing at a much faster rate, then it is indeed going in the wrong direction. I can continue for years making great money with things just the way they are now. But I'm like you...I'm not satisfied with it. I want to grow a LOT faster and make much more money.

But the tube thing is already starting to drop back a bit. And soon, just like everything else that ever threatens the business...it will be settled one way or another. And then we will know where we stand and what we need to do to move up the ladder.

EDIT: Oh shit! I beat JFK to another one! Here goes:

There is a easy solution for this problem but many, many webmasters and sponsors dont give a fuck about illegal tube sites.
You want to stop some illegal tube site to post full lenght movies but you cant stop them legally? In that case, there is only one option left - destroy illegal tube site. Who cares about legality, they dont play fair, why should we play fair? It isnt too hard to find couple of expirienced hackers and make a deal with them to destroy some site.
Anyway, most of the time I just sit around the office waiting for the weekend. Don't get me wrong, I love the money the job pays. But my real passion lies in kicking people's fucking heads in at football.

Bro, I'm always the poorest guy in the room when I'm at a convention. I spent far too many years in the freesite business. I thought I was a big shot a few years ago. But I know better now.

I've always made money from SEO and in adult, via blogs so I'm no TGP expert. I've dabbled in submitting on and off and I have to say, TGP traffic is BETTER than when I started two years ago. I think the argument that the tubes has siphoned off a lot of the freeloader traffic carries some weight.

Paid content needs to be a step ahead of free content to survive. Paysites need to offer something that tubes can't.

                      HD videos come to mind.
