dude.. she started the webcam industry...

she was 100% of the inspiration for our first ever site collegecouplecam

she really didnt milk the $$$ like she could have though..

heard she was only makin like 10-12k a month at her peak

Yeah, waaaay overrated. that site sucked then, and that site sucks now. i can't believe that bitch made it on Dave Letterman! Who looks at that nasty thing Jenni? shes ugly, I dont dont care to see her in her home!

I Remember it.

Read everything on things like that back in the days. I was setting up live cams for people in 97. Those were the final college days... mmm...

Ive been a member of jennicam since before the webcam was invented. She used to send out a flip book of pics, and you strum through it and see her pics change and looks like she's moving. Black and white too.

She was huge in 1997 same with Danny Ash,Cindymargolis and good old Seth Warshavsky (IEG)

Though she got her own domain in December of 1997, her cam dates back to the spring of '96, out of her Dickinson College dorm room in Pennsylvania.

Throughout that first year, it was at http://www.boudoir.org/ and she reportedly cleared $46,500 profit that year by charging (get this!) $15 a year for her membership site.

yeah, the pricing was seriously out of wack. though personally, i found the site boring as shit anyway.

She could have grew into something alot larger i'm sure alot of people aproached her back then with cash in hand.

Well, actually she did sell out in a way. The domain, boudoir.org, actually was a Christmas gift from a fan when she had her original, free site (whose URL I can't recall). It was there that she started her membership site and soon became involved with a promoter (whose name I won't mention). He began the publicity campaign in the fall of 1997, leading to a number of TV appearances and a lot of media exposure.

However-- before, during, through and after this and the transfer to jennicam.com, she had a number of problems with her membership management program including a great number (either 250 or 1,000, depending on who you heard it from at the time) of lost Ibill pincodes. This lead to a number of accusations and almost a year of "Jenny Bashing" on message forums and in the newsgroups.

This hurt her, both business-wise and personally, and she considered retiring completely from her webcam at one point. However, with the support of those fans that remained loyal to her, she was able to disentangle herself from the promoter, straighten out the membership problems and has quietly run her site for the past few years.

Ana Voog's (anacam.com) been around a while too - since 1997, I think. She was definitely after Jenni, but she got some press back then too.

Ahhh, Ana- the original punk rock cam girl! Yes, she was early on. But she came after http://www.chatv.com/, which debuted in May of 1997 and was the first site to feature a number of cam girls.
