Hey, car-buying experts!
So, my girlfriend has been offered a job in Las Vegas, 2,075 miles from where we now live, in a burning miserable desert. The move will be hellish and the pay sucks, so naturally she'll be taking the job.
I am thinking about selling her current car (2001 Toyota Camry V6) and purchasing a new vehicle for the move. She's been putting a lot of miles on her Toyota and I want to get rid of it while it still has reasonable value. I don't want her to get raped on the new car so I am looking for good resources to research cars and find out what she should really be paying for them. I already know about places like AutoTrader.com and Carpoint.com but those mostly show MSRP and occasionally dealer invoice. Now, only a bonehead pays MSRP and I suspect only a boneheaded dealer pays the factory invoice price.
The only cars I am really interested in are things like Mustangs, Corvettes, Vipers, Shelby Cobras, etc, so I don't really have any experience researching everyday rides and any tips I can get on pricing and negotiation are appreciated. I'd especially appreciate any good web resources.
Thanks,
SpaceAce
