Funny thing is... since Jay works for YNOT, these things kind of affect the company, making me also interested in who was responsible. I can definitely confirm that the hotel IS indeed reviewing tapes, interviewing staff, etc., and have insisted to us that they WILL figure out who it was. So, as long as the hotel does indeed follow through on what they said would happen ... then yup, someone is going to be outed. And how sweet that will be.
There were a lot of great people at the show in FL... lots of good peeps in this business. But we do also have a few amongst our ranks that are either a) unprofessional, b) unethical, c) unintelligent, or d) all of the above. Often they expose themselves by their behavior. But if we do get a chance to expose the particular thief involved in the incident that Jay posted about, honestly, that will give me something to smile about for the rest of the year. May even build a special section on YNOT as a memorial to the event.Comment

I'm not trying to be rude or sarcastic, because I don't know you... at all. But I will always have the lowest opinion of MOST people in this industry and expect the worst from them.
Being shocked by behavior at shows (like mongoloid retards throwing chairs off of hotel balconies for example) or fights or room charges... it's just something to expect and be prepared for. Same as getting shaved or fucked by reps during traffic deals, or people not following through on their word etc.
Stick to your circle, trust who has PROVEN to you they can be trusted. Otherwise assume murder. ;)Comment

It's surprising how little ID you actually need to charge large sums of money to your room. I was a little worried myself at times as I was shouting my room number and last name to bartender who was across the room. I think that should be a fix for next year--you need ID to bill to rooms, even if it's just your badge.
And Jay, I fully support the move to out whoever it was. That's messed up. It could have been any of us and there are a lot of people who don't have the pockets to cover it like YNOT could. The POLICE might SHOW him a picture to find out if he recognizes the person.. But they aren't going to GIVE him the picture or the guys name or anything.
The person is a scammer they might not have specifically planned to target you but you just gave them the opportunity..
