    Question for Europeans...

Why is Germany your largest economy? From what I understand, Germany is still a fairly inexpensive country, especially compared to other European countries and even many American cities. Why is it that they have the largest economy?

Is it because they are growing? They have a lot of factories?

    One big factor is population.

    Germany 82 million
    France 64 million
    UK 61 million

Its because of the population and the extreme pressure from society.

          This.

The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Denmark and Austria (some of Germany's neighbours) all have a higher nominal GDP per capita.

Interesting. I suppose the city matters, of course. I'm pretty sure I had a friend tell me that Düsseldorf was pretty inexpensive...

It's because the red light district is a huge part of their economy and thanks to visitors and the Military it is a remarkably profitable industry.
