As a member of a performing Rocky Horror cast, I'm offended by the notion of this...Rocky Horror was a happy accident....you can'ty make a cult hit on purpose...it's totally organic...and really, without the audience participation, it's just a campy sci-fi musical with Tim Curry in lingerie and Susan Sarandon (slut!) looking kinda hot...

if you aren't watching it in a theater full of people talking back to screen throwing items at the screen and/or a live performing cast...you're missing the whole experience and the point...

When somebody watches it on tv or video vs in the actual cinema it is called masturbation.

Trust me, we know the quality of the film. In fact, a lot of the lines thrown at the film by the live audience are about just that. The reason Rocky Horror is so close to many of our hearts is the experience of what happens in the actual cinema when it is shown and the community that is formed by the group that go week after week. For many, such as myself, it was where freaks like us could go and just be one of many freaks and scream and swear and everybody knows it is just fun.

Btw..the petition thing says they are writing new songs for it. If true that is just rubbish.
