Am I the only one that didn't like BatMan, The Dark Night... SPOILERS!

Oh.. before you bitch and complain, just know I'm going to talk about the movie. So if you don't wanna hear anything, GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!

Ok, so... I guess I just wanted to see more of the Joker and less of Harvey Dent. I really didn't care too much for all the political bullshit with Harvey, and it didn't seem like there was that much of a connection between him and Rachel. It was kinda like they were always hanging out and then after 'the explosion' he's super pissed off, and it didn't seem like his pure rage was that motivated.

It would be like if I were walking around and someone borrowed pencil from me, and then they broke and I went into a fucking rage and started killing his family, his friends, their dogs.. it just seemed like his reaction came out of nowhere. I guess that's what is meant by his villain name, but to someone that doesn't read cartoon books, that didn't come across to well in the movie.

It seemed like there were 3 movies going on, instead of 1 movie with 3 different acts.

The first movie was between Batman and the Joker, then the 2nd movie was between Harvey Dent and everyone else, and the 3rd movie just had a lot of nonsense in it to waste time.

The boats with the criminals, and the prisoners... WHAT THE FUCK??? That didn't have anything to do with Batman. Show them in peril, and show Batman throwing Joker off the roof and I GUESS he dropped the remote because he had it, and then suddenly he didn't have it. So show them in peril, but to build up a small story between the boats and making them choose and showing that for 20 minutes. Fuck all that... just show a bunch of screaming people, fuck all the voting (ala reality show), and the criminals with good hearts. Stupid.

I did like the action sequences, his motorcycle was pretty cool, and I saw it at the cineramadome so I was damn near deaf when I left. I had a ringing in my ears two hours later.

The action sequences were neat, the joker was cool, the Harvey Dent makeup was so over the top I kept looking at it but could care less for all the dumb shit he was doing.

Oh and some of the camera moves were making me sick.. in particular, there is a scene where the joker crashes a party. FUCK... don't sit in the first row of the balcony at the Dome and watch that scene on an 86 foot wide screen. The camera is so shaky and spins around the Joker and Rachel so much we were all leaning to one side thinking we were gonna fall off the earth.

And I guess I didn't follow the ending too much. Too political with Harvey and his beliefs and Batman running off... Fuck it.. why not just say "Harvey went apeshit and we killed him"

With our economy as fucked up s it is, and our politicians as dumb as they are, the last thing I want to do is go see a movie with a bad ass villain and then get preached to about hope. I just want to be taken out of my surroundings. I want to escape.

I dunno... maybe it's just me.

I finally saw the movie. Overall, movie is pretty good. I was a bit skeptical of going to see a "batman" movie since it's really not one of my favourite superheros. But anyway, onto the good and bad things.

The only thing i totally hated about the movie is the same thing you mention. Harvey Dent's rage. WTF. That shit came out of nowhere. So the girl died and they failed to save her (even tho they really really tried), he's now a lunatic and will kill them and their families because he has it in him that it's all a "50/50 chance" so he's gona throw a coin on each of their lives. That's fucking bullshit, and it's so badly built it really brings the movie down. I guess they are prebuilding for a sequel with twoface, but they should have done that ALOT better. His rage is totally unjustifiable by a long shot and just seem to have been put in there.

Another thing i didn't like, but i can justify it because it's a "superhero" movie, is all the things joker did. I can see how it's made to get that eerie efect on the people, but it's really a bit farfetched for someone that doesn't have super powers. I like when my characters are nicelly explained. If he's a superhero, i can see him doing all kinds of shit. If he's a human, make it humanly possible. For them to blow up that hospital like that, it would take 2 months planting explosives, not some covert shit planed 1-2 days ahead. Or the whole capturing of joker, and how he all actually "planned" that, makes him to be super inteligent, but the actions during his capture really dont lead to him actually letting be captured.

I liked all other things. Joker's acting was really good, but i wouldn't call it "BESTEST EVAR!!!" or what some people say. Jack still did it better, and potrayed the "joker" character better IMHO. This joker was cunning/sinister/crazy, but all planed. Jack was just a wack job.

Overall, good movie, made for a bit more adult audience then other batmans, and definatelly watchable by all ages. But it's nothing to go bezerk over, as the media made it to be.

You guys are right about the Batman grunting heh...that was kinda odd.

The sign of an enjoyable movie for me is when it doesn't feel long, and this didn't. It was 2.5 hours but I was ready to see some more (especially more Joker).

Ledger's Joker and Jack's Joker aren't really comparable, as one was a true anarchist (Ledger) while the other was a campy psycho (like in the old tv series). Both actors played their roles great.

Still, I am liking this Batman Begins franchise a lot more than the original one. The darker storylines are closer to the comic book's peak Batman era stories centered around the Killing Joke (if only Robin could have found his way into this one to be killed by Joker heh).

Now if the sequel doesn't bother with lame villains like The Penguin and Mr.Freeze I'll be happy.

bah, Dent's rage. Hello, it's from a comic book. That's how it happened in the comic book (more or less).
They can't keep a similar story line AND make it believable at the same time. They did their best with what they had and it worked just fine. Not great, but it worked.
It certainly was way better than Tommy Lee Jones's version.

Anyway, Batman's voice was forced, sounded stupid at times. That I agree with. But I think that's only because he was side by side with the Ledger who was extremely convincing.
It's kinda like a hot woman hanging out with an ugly chick... the hot chick looks hotter, the ugly chick looks uglier.

I really hope that Ledger is nominated for an award, not because he's dead but because I really believed that he was a psycho. That he really could have been killing those people just to have a laugh.

It had it's issues but all in all, I thought it was a great movie. Like Varius said, it didn't feel long at all. It kept me interested all the way through and really, what more do you need from a movie?

Yup I read that too, I'm all for Depp as the Riddler but I still think Penguin is a lame villain heh. Though he was a major Batman villain in the comics I supoose, I just hope his role is limited in the next movie.
