More details needed. Mainstream wordpress sites usually go anywhere form $300 to $2000. It really just depends on a bunch of variables.

Constant updates with text and photos.
The use of WP stickies

The site itself doesn't make any revenue.

What sort of updates? What pictures? Will you write the updates you self?, Why would it cost more to setup a wordpress blog in mainstream than adult btw?

Adult design is generally cheaper than mainstream.

News, schedules, fighter info, seminars, up and coming fights..
Photos from fights...

Plus, custom design....

Is 1500.00 a fair price for a mainstream fully developed site with constant updates?

both...since Wordpress is always updating...and constant photos and news...

Photos require resizing and cropping.

Really hard to say, if you gonna update it daily with original text it would be worth it IMO.

Charge what you feel confortable with. 1.5k for a design, hosting and having to add their updates for a year... I wouldn't toutch this project with a 10 foot pole if I were you...

You should charge a base price + a price per update you add if they don't want to do it themselves.

But looking at the site you posted, I would be ashamed to charge them for design... it's butt ugly. It's not just the dark bg.. everything.

If that one's worth $1500 then I should be able to get 10K+ for mine easy since it's a single word dot com ranked #1 and #2 on both googleand yahoo as well as #1 on MSN for its keyword and it's revenue generating

When my renewal comes up I'm prepaying 10 years on it.

if you leave it open ended and flat rate a low price, then might end up putting more time into it and working per hour for what you could get flipping burgers at McDonalds

figure out what kind of time you will have to put in and divide it all up and see if you are comfortable with the hourly rate that it works out to
