I thought it was pretty good. I had just watched a few episodes of the old show prior to the premiere last night. They did a good job. It "felt" and "looked" like the X-files. The acting was good and the story and plot are building up nicely. All the actors are older of course but still looking good. I saw Gillian Anderson at Fan Expo last September and she looks amazing. num num num..Comment

I think it was too fast paced, they told a lot in those 45 minutes, they could have easily made a 70-90 minute "pilot" out of it.. but it was good.
Also they showed a little too much, I mean in the old X-files episodes there were only hints, dark shapes/figures etc.. but that's maybe because CGI was expensive + shitty back then

Why wouldn't the old man tell the story to Mulder and say "you are close"? I mean his reasoning was that people would mock them, but that same mocking would happen if/when Mulder find it out by himself (for which the old man roots).
So it does not make any sense for the old man not to tell him and save time.
I mean I understand that this was done for the sake of showing how Mulder finds out the truth, but it did not make any logical sense in general. In my books that is huge illogical error in screenplay.Comment

Good point, there were several of those monologues. Tad's monologue got mulder to cave into interviewing sveta and her monologue sold mulder.
Donr get me wrong, it was OK television. I can't really see the big plot set up though when it was just blurted out and bought. Next. Both are good actors too but I thought they phoned in some of it.
I'm thinking tonight's episode will be more intense.Comment

It really stinks, but as a big X Files fan, I'm going watch out of curiosity.
Bad dialogue, confusing and nonsensical plotting and two phoned in performances by otherwise good actors. They should have gotten Vince Gilligan involved.

the ct nutter is well represented online, agent mulder isn't unique anymore. certainly not compelling. He's a fine actor, both are, but as mentioned, they're both phoning it in. in particular, the dialogue/interaction between mulder and skinner is not just bad, it's really really bad.Comment
