There are many much more realistic sci-fi stories. E.g. "2001: A Space Odyssey" which was filmed in 60s of the past century. Both the book and the movie, as well as their sequels are flowless. Also as I said above, "The Martian" was
very good and it was a pleasure to watch it (a modern version of Robinson Crusoe). You just have to watch it as a comics-based blockbuster and not consider it as a sci-fi story.
