we did a testshoot with it and it works excellent. will be probably getting 2 later this year. if you buy it also get the HDR60 harddrive - no more capturing tapes but you can still keep them as backup

I wish I could see some content shot on a set....most of the stuff I've seen so far is outdoor shots, and most cam will do well outside.....

I like canon stuff, I have the XH-A1 , nice camera, similar to the one your looking at, here is a short video I shot inside with it

it has great color, this video is compressed way down to use less bandwidth, but its still pretty good.. for those critics, its shakey because it was ment to be.. kinda like a home video thing.

Mmm, I don't have it handy but we also have something we shot in a museum and was rather dark. will look for it.

I heard the XH-A1 is better in low light.....whas that shot with only a light on the camera?

yes, just the light on the camera, its the one made by canon for their video cameras.

I do not care for lowlight, there is a night setting for the camera which works, and I have shot some stuff where I did not have enough light, which I think totally sucked, but I think all HD cameras you need alot of light to get the color to pop out right. If you wanted to shoot low light, get a cheap camera, no one will be abe to tell the difference

What worries me a bit is if I would shoot with a dark background getting the light only on the actors, that the background would have some noise.....and I would like to get the best camera to make these type of scenes..... without the noise in the darker areas.

a dark background will not cause noise, move your model away from the back ground and only light the model, either lights on each side of her or off at a 45 degree angle. a Black background should not be confused with low light shooting.
If your trying to isolate the model from the background, I would not use an on camera light, because that will light her and the background
