Don't take xanax. First thing you should do is get a full blood panel; hormones, liver enzymes, cortisol, cholesterol. If you're hormones are out of wack, say for example if you have low test and/or high estrogen, you will feel like shit and that will affect you mentally. Also do a full test of your thyroid, your TSH might be low which all can be fixed with natural supplements - do NOT take thyroid meds or else you'll be on it for the rest of your life.
Poor hormones will affect your dopamine and seratonin levels, and those are what control your mood/depression. THese can also be fixed with natural supplements.
Get a full panel done to understand what is going on with your health before you chart a course of action back to good health. Godspeed.
