Nick Names - Whats the story behind yours?

Just curious

Most people have some story behind there weird nick names.

My nick name is a product of my fathers name the reversed age of my friends mother. I made it up for a hotmail address and have used it for 10 years now

never bothered to change it hehe, weird and not very good nick name but it sorta stick to ya.

So what's your nick name story?

I just stole the first name of my favorite guitarist.. Yngwie Malmsteen. Been using it since I 1st got the net in the early 90's.

My previous nickname was Tran Bueller and I got too many people confusing me with A) being Asian and B) being a tranny and occasionally C) being related to Ferris Bueller. My new nickname (né stage name) resolves all that.

I can tell a funny story. It was at webmaster access in atlanta. Im going by the elevator and I bump into the owner of Naughty America. I introduce myself we shake hands and he says I have to talk to you about 404 traffic. I say I do nothing with 404 traffic, he looks baffled and says but you're tony404? I say the 404 is my area code and sometimes my weight and I find this funny. He looks annoyed and walks away. lol When I took the name for GFY I didnt know about 404 pages on the web.

my name is tim. i video edit for twistys.
i went to some high school conference where every one had name tags, and they mispelled my name is time. so everyone i met and knew started calling me time, and father time.
i am a clutz, and totally accident prone, so when such things happened i would get a "timebomb" response from people.

so i use with either the 011 for legit nic's and 420 for fun ones.
and i sometimes witch it up to timebong as well.

Mine comes from the Americanized version of Takeshi's Castle called MXC which is shown on Spike TV from time to time. Every single episode has someone with the last name "Babaganoosh." Whenever I catch that show I always have to listen for the name.

It has nothing to do with the Indian food baba ghanouj.

I used Zuzana Designs as I felt there are not that many words that start with Z that stick in my mind .. So I was looking at cam models one day on Video Secrets and there was a girl named Zuzana... I thought it could be Sarah Designs or Zuzana Designs .. Zuzana Designs sounded WAY better

When I started out (before AOL ruined the internet) my nickname was Wolf, but sometimes I couldn't get it and I'd be BlackWolf.. then it got so I couldn't get wolf, redwolf, blackwolf, or any of the nicks I liked to use.. after trying five or six variations I crashed my hands down on the keyboard thinking Dadgummit, wolf!! It came out Dagwolf... I've never had to fight for my nick since.

When I first started building websites I was huge, I mean HUGE into Insane Clown Posse, and because Violent J was my hero, and the first song of theirs I heard was Boogie Woogie Wu, I took the name Happy J The Psychotic Killer Clown as my nick, but it was to long for alot of shit so I shortened it to Happy J Clown, then I wanted to be alittle more professional so I switched to J but it was to short, since J is the first letter of my real name, I made it Jay, then I created a site called Club Shagnasty, so I put sin at the end to make Jaysin and my mascot for the site was Baron Von Nasty, so my full nick is actually Jaysin McNasty

Now I'm slowly getting away from it and going to my real name Josh with my business name in with it, Retox Josh

I told it before, but here we go again. Back in the time of the 2400 bps modems BBS and stuff like that (I'm not sure Yahoo existed yet) I had to choose nicknames and passwords for different things. So I had this "Taxidriver" movie poster in my office (I still have it even though I went thru 4 different offices so far) and since I'm really smart I chose an actor's name as user and last name as password. Clever huh? Anyway, somehow user:Harvey and pass:Keitel kinda stuck and people started to call me Harvey everywhere, Harvey here and Harvey there and now most people uses that name than my real name, lol, so when I tell them I'm Italian I've to explain them the story behind my name

Note: I don't use Keitel as password anymore, don't bother
