Most of them do deserve special recognition. The vast majority of them do a great job and are straight hardworking people. It sounds like you may be a little jealous that you get little to no thanks for washing dishes somewhere or lacking in the attention department. To select a profession and to call them out because of recognition makes YOU look sour.

Childhood dreams flushing down the toilet due to lack of required skills usually makes pillow biters jealous of the "dominant male" role. Sitting alone in the dark, typing hateful messages from a beta male is lackluster.See, that is what confused me; I thought I remembered you used to be a parking cop or something. I was trying to figure out what made you so bitter about public servants. Was it because you couldn't get on with the PD?

We all have had our run-ins with the cops. And usually it's for doing stupid shit. Dissing public servants is just tiresome, worse than Illuminati conspiracy theories. People are getting tired of the "it's cool to hate a cop."Comment

While I appreciate the cops, firefighters and doctors/EMT's that work on Christmas (and other holidays) I also appreciate the guy working at Wallgreens on Christmas day so I could go buy an HDMI cable when I couldn't find one in the house and all the gas stations that are open with people working pumping gas out in the cold, miserable weather.Comment

You work As a parking enforcement officer. I'm sure you turn down time and a half or double time on holidays? At least the police, ambulance and firefighters are deserving of double time. Meter maids not so much. Take your anger elsewhere you hypocrite.Our local newspaper runs a story this morning praising "police, firefighters and paramedics" for their dedication working Christmas Day - when everyone else is at home with family and friends.
Remember folks - IT'S ALL ABOUT THE POLICE, FIREFIGHTERS AND AMBULANCE WORKERS (you know...the ones making double time and a half on Xmas Day).
While the unsung, minimum wagers in this bleak economy who keep the lights on and the cogs turning...just doing what they do - in order to pay the exorbitant wage and benefits the cop enjoys.

one time, when i went on my 8th grade washington DC class trip, we visited the FBI. in the entrance was an xray machine, so being a kid i started watching what was on the monitor. a nasty asshat of an agent tersely yelled at me to rejoin my class. i spent the rest of the tour angry, hurt, holding back tears. i did nothing wrong. Fucking pig.
today, if that happened, i would file a lawsuit, get #perverts-lives-matters behind me, & shut down a mall over it.
