For what its worth I'd have to agree that the Elevated X add-on costs are kind of a turn-off. For example, a responsive site is an absolute minimum requirement in 2016 and beyond as mobile device traffic is quickly matching or exceeding desktop traffic. Not including this as standard in both the basic and pro versions is really unacceptable in my opinion. And from what I see, it looks like the EX responsive solution is to direct mobile users to another template, whereas in Wordpress you can just use one responsive theme that looks good everywhere.
Don't get me wrong, EX is obviously a great product and AJ's comments here at GFY are very professional and helpful. But when I check the EX features and don't see responsive theme templates included in the price that is a BIG red flag for me and I suspect many others. To me that's like selling someone a car but then saying "Oh, by the way if you want a steering wheel that's $50 extra a month".
