Why are Women so useless at PHOTOGRAPHY?

Seriously. My wife has just got back from Japan, with a camera full of 382 photos. I'd estimate that 70% of them are unuseable. I was hoping for some great shots of my 1 year old daughter over there.

I've explained the importance of remaining still while shooting, changing settings depending on light etc, but does she fricken listen? She even fucks it up on auto.

And who on earth switches from portait to landscape while recording movies? Do you want to go to the cinema and tilt your head 90 degrees to the left?

Same deal with 3 previous girlfriends, they were all useless.

What is the percentage of professional photographers in the world in all industries not just porn. I'd guess at less than 2%. And for good reason.

Anyway, you should not assume and then make blanket statements.
There are plenty of very talented female photographers in the world.

You've had 3 girlfriends be useless photographers? Why don't you take them out with the camera and teach them the basics? make it fun! let her feel confident with it, and play with showing you the world as she sees it. DO THIS BEFORE THE TRIP. And then quitcher bitchin'.

I've being showing her how to use them for 5 years and she still doesn't get it. I think there's something incompatible between (most) women and a camera.

Come to think of it, anything electronic / electrical for that matter, why stop at cameras? lol.

He's not saying all women, he's suggesting that there is a large percentage of women out there who are completely inept with any type of camera,

and he's right.

While I can think of tons of talented women who do great work, their numbers are still extremely low compared to the sheer masses of weekend snap-shotters who have no natural clue or sense at how to take even the most basic album-worthy shot.

However, there are a lot of guys out there as well who couldn't take a decent picture even with an auto-focus digital if their lives depended on it. I think he's saying there are probably more inept women than men for this though. I'm not inclined to say for sure but I suspect he may be correct on that too.

Suze Randall shoots some good stuff. Better than 90% of the male photographers out there I would have to say. There are a lot of "guys with cameras" out there that shoot some pretty crappy stuff as well.

I find that for the most part women are useless at many technical things...... driving, photography, operating tv's etc etc

Funny enough theyre awesome when it comes to operating mobile phones because that a mobile phone is for talking and they can talk for hours.

I've seen a fair few of the "get a sore neck" videos... phones/cameras should have a warning that they are oriented the wrong way before starting recording in video mode, or even have something as basic as an arrow pointing upwards from the lens area.

BTW, what's wrong with using a flash in daylight?
