Space X was Tesla bailout. Even Musk did admit that in interview.
Musk is bullshit seller. But he have retarded audience, uneducated and with total lack of common sense.
No, losing 30% of load to save one stage isn't going to improve anything (1 div 0,7 = 1.42, to move same load into orbit, you need 42% more in fuel consumed and other stages destroyed to save 1 one stage)
No, electric car with 8000 cell battery in country with 70% of electricity produced from fossil fuels isn't going to save environment. 40% of electricity in US is produced from coal power plants, which produce insane amount of pollution and waste (coal ash) and more radioactivity than Nuclear power plants .... with difference, nuclear waste is properly stored.
No, powerwalls with total 1,000,000,000 battery cells at 10x cost of one single pump-action power plant aren't going to save environment.Need artificial traffic?I can emulate human behavior online like noone else.

As big as this is for SpaceX, it's not the first time a vertical take-off rocket has landed upright after launching into space. In November, Jeff Bezosâ?? private spaceflight company Blue Origin announced that it had landed its rocket New Shepard post-launch.Comment

yeah, thought so.
Elon Musk reminds me of Apple - no matter if someone else did it before, you just have to pretend you're first and be the most vocal about it and everyone will believe itComment

Looks cool, but is it really cost-effective? I mean all those difficulties with returning of the 1st stage.Obey the CowgodComment

Oh give me a break dude.. There are 3 companies all in a race to do the same things.. It was Spaceship one which was the first private company to put men in space. They were doing great things then one of their space crafts broke up on re entry killing one pilot but amazingly the second one survived the crash.. That was their set back and they have yet to regain their momentum.
Next it was SpaceX.. They have been doing great things and were the first company to attempt a vertical take off and landing. On their first test the rocket crashed on landing. That was their set back but they have come back and become successful on their second try..
Blue Orgin managed to have a successful vertical take off and landing inbetween the first crash of SpaceX and their now successful attempt.
While yes Blue Orgin did manage to sneak in there and do it first successfully.. They have done no where near as much as SpaceX has..
I mean for fucks sake, do you Debbie downers have any idea how many rockets NASA lost just trying to get men into space? What each of these 3 companies have done is pretty fucking astounding by any rights..In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

He was not denying that it was astounding. He was merely exposing who was the first.Comment

I realize you are just a hater, so this will likely fall on death ears.. However we are pushing past fossil fuels.. They will not be the main power sources in 5O years. Perhaps you should go take a drive around the country.. We are building wind farms at an outstanding g rate as well as solar farms.Space X was Tesla bailout. Even Musk did admit that in interview.

Right now renewable energy is around 13% of the total energy produced in this country. The important factor is that 75% of new energy production is coming from renewable energy sources (solar/wind). I.e. Fossil fuels are the past and we are in a cross over transition.
By 2050 somewhere around 75% of electric generated in the US will be from renewable/green energy sources.. That is the future and yes, by that time electric cars will be the majority not the minority and yes they will be saving our environment..
Progress doesn't happen at the flip of the switch, it takes time. Gas powered cars did not instantly become the main transportation system the moment Henry Ford built his production line..In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

I wasn't denying that they didn't do it first, but I was pointing out that yes SpaceX was the first to attempt a vertical take off and landing. They just were not successful in their first attempt.
Anyway.. Where did SpaceX claim they were the first? Are they not aloud to be happy at their success? You guys are always so boo hoo every time Musk does something.. Why so much hate? At least he's doing something productive with his fortune and not just being a rich faggot. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

It just seems a trend here on GFY that many are very Debbie downers everytime he makes news..
The guy is likely one in a billion.. While other rich faggots are busy farming money in hedge funds and bankrupting our country, he is putting his money on the table to advance our future in some pretty interesting ways., I just don't see why there is so much hate for him specifically from many of the consertive crowd. It's not just here either, many of the consertive talking heads hate him.. I assume it's because he represents anti oil with his electric cars..
The oil companies remind me of the record companies when napster came along. They spent all their time and money fighting the future instead of diving in to control it..
If the big oil companies were smart.. They would be putting charging stations at their gas stations and taking control of the future instead of trying to fight it..In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

Blue Origin's is only meant for space tourism, where the Falcon 9 (SpaceX) gets payload to outer space (satellites, astronauts/stuff to ISS), huge difference. The first one is smaller and it just goes basically up then down (vertically), where the SpaceX thingy goes like the other spacecrafts in a ballistic way (or how do they call it)..

Btw well worth the read: How (and Why) SpaceX Will Colonize Mars - Wait But Why
It totally changed my view on spacetravel.. however its a very long read.. The point is, that re-usability is a huge cost saver in getting stuff to outer space.

This is amazing. Space travel has always been interesting to me, but with the way technology is progressing and with private companies getting into it.... We'll see huge changes in the next twenty - forty years.

When Nasa lost a big chunk of its funding and had to retire the Space Shuttle I thought that this was it for cool Space Travel for a long time. I'm glad to see I was wrong. Nasa's robots on Mars and now, reusable boosters from SpaceX. Awesome shit.

i root for elon musk as the edison of our time. I re-assert however that his most successful project, by far, in terms of profits, will be the hyperloop he gave away. i guess he prefers sexy risky toys to boring sure things. His hyperloop is gonna dwarf everything else he does economically. guaranteed.

Why? Because I have knowledge & analytic thinking?
No, it won't be. Electronics have ~5% tolerance on voltage.
Only renewable source with stable and predictable output is hydroelectric.
Solar & wind sources are just waste of tax payers money (through subsidies).
Their output is highly unstable
Only way to stabilize huge amount of unstable power sources is to have huge amount of stable sources with controllable output.
That's why there's still many coal power plants running.
Nuclear power plants can't change output that fast and total shutdown/start is complicated.
Ever heard about scram, iodine pit, etc ...?Need artificial traffic?I can emulate human behavior online like noone else.

He's correct about the Debbie Downer though. So easy to criticize others who do amazing things.

In 2019, about 23 percent of all electricity in the United States was generated by coal-fired power plants, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration that's not even close to the 40% -- anyways have a good weekendComment
