TeenCat: valid question, this has been done before (in adult as well) so we've done extensive research before making the move. You can retain the visitors for the branded keywords and most of your link juice with the proper redirects and indicating the change in the Search Console. In any case it's definitely not without risks but we won't lose our SE traffic. We plan to share our experiences once we are fully done with the transition.

I was also a little fearful about changing my name from Peabody to The Porn Nerd after almost five years. But it turns out "porn" and "nerd" are much better for SEO so my traffic actually improved after the name (and domain) change.

The same will happen here. Porn is a better keyword than hard or tube.

ok, now i got it, and i am sad for all the people who have to surf sites like this ... all the videos on the main page have some pseudo paysite watermark, i dont see even one single official paysite watermark, so knowing that the surfers will be faked with some pseudo official videos, is not my taste ... but everyones choice, i close sites like that and never come back ... oops ... but i am not a surfer boy

TeenCat, thanks for your feedback. We do have a lot of official videos (with official watermarks) on the site but you have to keep in mind we work with a 2mil+ video library and our main page is dynamically generated by our recommendation engine.

One of our main priorities with the switch to GotPorn is generating significantly more content partner video views and sending a lot more traffic to affiliate programs.

On the first day of GotPorn we sent around 3x more hits to content partners compared to one day previously on HardSexTube and our aim is to push that a lot further in the next couple of months.

I for sure hope you do send more traffic to content partners as right now, there is a huge difference between you and the other 'big' tubes you are trying to compete with.

We batch upload the same clip at once to all our partner accounts so every tube gets the same amount of content and here are some stats of ours from out top 3 tubes: (same time period)

Tube A: 246k hits / 398 sales
Tube B: 301k hits / 976 sales
Tube C: 275k hits / 227 sales

Hardsextube: 2184 hits / 1 sales

I'm not dissing here but just showing our real stats and with the internet getting tighter and tighter in the future in terms of user uploaded content and other stuff, it would be sensible to work closer with your partners as this may be the key to tube site longevity.

Thanks, this is pretty useful info. I'd need to know who A/B/C is so we can also compare traffic stats first. Doubt they have 100x amount of video views overall though so in principle I agree with your argument, hence our changes going that way.
