    Is GFY just a joke now?

    Seriously is this place just a joke? used to be a great place for webmasters to discuss the industry, make connections, do business.

    Now? just the same trolls going off about the same things...does anyone still work? Have the real webmasters moved on?

    Anyone moderate this thing? (honest question)

                                  With the affiliate model now almost dead...the purpose of GFY is sort of in question a bit.

                                  Coming on here to make Affiliate Program announcements when there are only a handful of viable affiliates (as opposed to thousands in the past) doesn't make much sense.

                                  Neither does B2B communication. If I need to talk to another owner, I'll just contact them directly.

                                  So I guess the place is sort of a virtual locker room to kind of hang out and shoot the shit. At least that's how I see it.

                                          Well, the real issue is the loss of affiliates. I see it in my stats and it concerns me.

                                          GFY used to be the place for affiliates and Program Owners to discuss real business and make connections. Now, most "Program Owners" have left or sold out, most of the adult biz is now focusing on cams and dating and affiliates, the lifeblood of the Adult Industry, are almost all gone.

                                          Sure the "big guys" (whale affiliates with most of the traffic/resources) are still around but they no longer need GFY to dobusiness (however much is left to do).

                                          But GFY is still a useful place to check out - you just have to ignore all the Donald Trump garbage. LOL

                                                      The primary problem with GFY is the fact that fake nics and people not in the industry are allowed to annoy, berate or cast doubt on actual businesses and their owners. The CEO of an actual company isn't interested in posting a new product launch here so that a half-dozen trolls can curse at him... So the CEOs don't post, and the trolls do.

                                                      Most CEOs have moved on to private boards, phone calls, facebook and other forms of direct communication... while the same trolls who accelerated their departure are often the most vocal about the need to bring them back. Ironic but true.

                                                                          Agreed. I have launched four new paysites since September and have not announced a single one on here. Why? So trolls can berate my Program and shit all over my work? No thanks.

                                                                                          Was responding to a guy who joined in 2011 telling me that GFY has always been a joke...it hasn't. Obviously I would know more about what went on here in the early days than someone who joined more recently

                                                                                          I have done some MASSIVE deals on this very site, millions of dollars involved and that is not a joke to me.

                                                                                                                                                  GFY used to be great 10-12 years ago (this is a new nick) and was exciting looking out for new sites to promote, promo days and offers and new affilate programs opening.

                                                                                                                                                  It used to be the source of breaking news and the board moved so fast you could post a new thread and would be off the 1st page within 20mins if no-one replied to it.

                                                                                                                                                  The sigs were better too - and people actually used to buy them and the banner ads at the top were way better then - except those with fucking audio.

                                                                                                                                                  Hell, I even miss those fucking annoying contest threads where no-bodies would be posting constantly in threads pages and pages long hoping to win $25 for the 50th, 100th post or whatever!

                                                                                                                                                  I really miss Chio the Pirates 'chops' too
