    News the bastard executioner canceled

    ?The Bastard Executioner? is no more. The FX drama series is laying down its sword following Tuesday?s airing of the season one finale.

    Series creator and showrunner Kurt Sutter has gone to unusual lengths to salute the hard work that went into producing the show while boldly acknowledging that the ratings weren?t strong enough to justify a renewal.

    The sword-and-sackcloth drama about the struggles of warrior knights in 12th century Wales proved to be ?an acquired taste,? by Sutter?s admission. And ?Bastard? was produced on much more than a Medieval budget. ?We did not hold back from showing the brutality of living in 1325 Wales,? he told Variety.

    Sutter and FX Networks CEO John Landgraf had a candid conversation recently that sealed the decision about the show.'

          The name in itself is very off-putting. I remember hearing the name of the show and thinking, "Pass". Even when I heard Sutter from SOA was behind it, I still passed. The reviews weren't overwhelmingly positive, now I'm glad I passed.

              The name of the the show was ridiculous, but it was alright.

                  IMO Sutter tried to had to make the Mrs. more than she actually is, as awesome as she was in SOA she was equally bad in Bastard

                      Well I made it about 4 or 5 episodes in, then kind of shelved it. The plotline was confusing as fuck, and the little I did understand wasn't particularly compelling.

                      Too much torture and gore, not that it would be off-putting in itself, but it seemed like it was just arbitrary, not happening to anyone the viewer really cared about. Like, torture and slice up the bad guys instead of random peasants.

                      And if you're gonna go so far out of your way with violence, let's have some T&A too, like SOA, Spartacus and Banshee. Those shows have plenty of sucky moments but there's always some naked chicks to remind you why you're watching.

                      Once "the last kingdom" started on BBC I stopped watching Bastard, a coherent story line that makes a little sense is way better than all that blood for the sake of blood.

                              The show was terrible - looked really low budget, terrible accents, terrible acting with cookie-cutter characters, and just no reason to watch really.

                                                  i liked the show. it took a few episodes to get into but thought it was pretty decent and could of been a lot better a few seasons in but oh well. i probably wouldn't of gave it a glance if it wasn't sutter who made it though. maybe i'll check out the last kingdom. hadn't heard of that show before.

                                                      Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

                                                              Lots of good shows get cancelled because no one is watching. This was not one of them. SOA, for all it's preposterous storylines was at least entertaining. Perhaps Sutter will try, try again and write something good for a change?
