He's one of the few with a brain around here... actually, governments around the world but particularly in indebted western countries are creeping towards this kind of financial enslavement. In the UK they can already just pull cash out of your bank account.

IMO this is only the start of really financially oppressive and confiscatory powers that are going to be coming up in the future. It's much easier to take wealth than to cut welfare bill and reduce spending by over bloated big government.
Don't forget that most people don't work for a living, they vote for a living.
