    Multiple sites on one VPS?

I'm just setting up a new VPS. I intend to run the main site from the main domain name. Is it damaging to add other sites to that account? What I mean is to have say twenty blogs as add-on accounts to myservername.mywebsite.com ?

    VPS specs?
    Estimated daily traffic?
    CMS?

It can be achieved without issues, but it really depends on a lot of factors and your overall skills in optimizing your setup.

It's the $30 option on this page. Main site is a forum, the add-on accounts Wordpress blogs.

You'll be able to do it and should have a decent experience depending on your traffic. I can't tell when you'll need to upgrade.

A 128MB VPS would be able to do it with a lot of optimizations.

If you're using CPanel, a non-optimized OS, non-optimized Apache, non-optimized MySQL, no caching and nothing else you'll reach your limit sooner.

Thanks for the advice. It will be using cPanel and no optimisation, but I've been told I can scale up as and when necessary. Will take the plunge then

Agreed, cpanel is useless bloat if you know what you're doing.

Also, asmallorange is totally great, but that size vps costs 1/3 less at digitalocean or linode.

Digital ocean do a VPS for $20 per month? I'd be very surprised at that.

As regards the price for asmallorange, that's not the price I will be paying

Avoid asmallorange. They're owned by EIG now.

Depends. I host about 35 sites (Wordpress) on one of my VPS accounts.

Pretty sure that they start at $5 for their basic set up.

I know, but I've had service with them for years and they've never done anything wrong. Good service and good prices. If things change, I'll move.
