Exactly. The US should have never armed the Jihadists so they could throw out the Russian, After the First World Ware we should have given the region back to the Ottomans. As well as leaving despots to gas, bomb and deliver genocide on any tribe or sect that didn't do exactly as they were told.

And of course withdraw any relief efforts after natural disasters, stop Christians murdering Muslims in the Balkans, and numerous other events.

We should all stand back like we did with Cambodia, Rwanda, because that worked out so well for us. Not so great for the Cambodians and Rwandans though.
