I think you have a very distorted view of the western press -- much of it's time is spent questioning the current government. The USA government owns few press outlets and controls their content. The VOA, BBC and some other western media are owned or funded by western governments -- many, but not all of us, question their impartiality. RT, Tass, Sputnik are owned and manipulated by the Russian government. Right now, they are telling Russia's ''truth'' you hopefully are sceptical of that. Sometimes I read VOA or Radio Free Europe but I am sceptical of their propaganda versioning of events -- they are serving their government masters -- I recognise that ...

It was either some sort of catastrophic mechanical failure - fuel tank explosion, or it was a bomb snuck on board somehow. And it's looking more like the latter.

If it was a bomb, it's intensely troubling for all - not just the Egyptians and Russians. Airlines and airports have over the past 15 years put in numerous safeguards and checks to prevent explosives from making it into the baggage area. If one snuck through that means the terrorists have either developed a new form of explosive or had inside help. Either is very serious, this could just as easily been an American airline as a Russian one. And success in this instance could be a blueprint for other terror cells.
