while I disagree on much of these archie bunker is a good choice for number one and for the record he was not racist...he was bigoted...there IS a difference.

Talk about the toughest list to get on. Best movies, best rock songs have nothing over this list. Even placement on the list is tough.
Two I see didn't make it.

David Jansen in The Fugitive. People watched that show and in real life and with the help of F Lee Baily, got Dr. Sam Sheppard a new trial and acquittal of murdering his wife.

Uncle Joe (Edgar Buchanan) on Petty Coat Junction. Sit on the porch swing, take a nap, let the dog do the heavy lifting. A character he played in many a movie.
Once working in a store in Corpus Christi I surprised a senior couple by knowing where Humansville Missouri was. Birth place of Edgar Buchanan. Just so happened my parents had lots at the lake a few miles away.
Husband ran out of the store, looking for his wife, "Martha, Martha, this young man knows where Humansville is."
Was that any easy store sale.

Read too fast didn't see Dr Kimble.

Maybe because some of them are "glued" together and run almost as a single unit

I mean they have tony soprano and carmela soprano as 2 separate and al bundy with peg bundy as one. And you can understand why.

I assume most of the more than one person in the list are from sitcoms when most of them are always in the same room.

Cranston made WW. The storyline was insanely good, but he totally owned that role.
